BRANNER JOHNSTON

I am a collector, distorter and configurist. I get gratification from finding likeness in every situation and medium, a flow among parts. I create sculptural, blown, and 2D forms using found and created materials that exhibit the essence of time and its duality of deterioration and creation. My art presents the innermost connections of time and place, memories and dreams, in manipulated ways to distance the viewer from reality. I am fascinated with how our brains interpret our daily visions and I aspire to capture those facets that emulate every element of being human.
